With one full day left to go until race day i wanted to say a million mahalos (thank yous!) to everyone that has written to wish me good luck….i really appreciate every single message of support, and i know it will be the wind beneath my wings when i need it most!
I also want to say a HUGE thankyou to Brett and my teammates for all their support this year; to my wonderful hosts here on the Big Island, John and Linda; my superb sponsors; my manager Ben; everyone at BikeWorks in Kona; the Ironman crew for all their help and of course, my friends and my incredible family who have been my rock for so long.
As many of you will know, October is breast cancer awareness month. I want to give a very special mention to Oakley, who have given me the huge honour of being the first athlete to wear a very, very special pair of new sunglasses, custom made in in support of breast cancer awareness. My grandmother survived breast cancer 28 years ago, and sadly passed away (from cancer) two months ago, and so it is an issue that is incredibly close to my heart. I will wear these special, unique sunglasses with incredible pride, and will auction them off to the highest bidder at 1pm on Sunday at the giant sized Oakley Truck on Alii Drive …
Anyway, the training is in the bank, the hard work has been done, I am feeling strong, fit, and ready to give it everything! Good luck to everyone racing on Saturday. I hope I can give everyone across the world something to scream, shout and smile about!
